Back in 2021, we saw Japanese down brand Nanga and Brooklyn-based menswear label Adsum come together for their first collaboration, featuring an ultralight down sleeping bag and pair of packable down booties. To close out 2022 the two brands have expanded their collaborative project into a concise three-piece collection made up of a reversible Diamond Quilt Puffer, reversible Down Shirt, and Diamond Quilt Shoulder Tote–also reversible. The new Adsum x Nanga capsule is available today from Adsum in limited quantities.
The hero item from the collection for most will be the Diamond Quilt Puffer($595), a made-in-Japan hooded down sweater using premium materials inside and out. On either side of its reversible configuration, wearers can choose from a black or key lime 10-denier Japanese ripstop nylon overstuffed with Spanish duck down rated at 760-fill power.
Continuing the reversible down garment theme, the Down Shirt ($385) employs more traditional horizontal baffling to trap the same 760-fill power Spanish duck down between its black and tangerine sides of ripstop nylon. A pair of zip hand pockets face out in tangerine mode and hidden zipper chest pockets on the black side; you can’t go wrong with either as far as we’re concerned.
Since you’ve already got a puffy jacket, puffy pants, and a pair of puffy shoes, why not top it all off with the puffy Diamond Quilt Shoulder Tote? Using the same palette and diamond quilt pattern of the puffy jacket, the zippered tote ($165) offers both a pair of shoulder straps and an adjustable crossbody depending on how it’s deployed. The green side features an integrated stuff pocket that also secures smaller items.
At just three pieces, the Nanga x Adsum collection is small but without any filler whatsoever. Just three bangers that any lover of well-made puffy pieces should appreciate and love. .
