What is it about Topo Designs’ collaborations that keep us coming back for more, time after time? The Colorado-based brand rarely plays with innovative materials or experiments with polarizing designs, but perhaps that’s just it—with each new partnership comes an opportunity to further solidify their already very well-defined brand identity, and to reinforce a design language and concrete color palette.
Or maybe it’s the modern nostalgia each product seems to emit. Even their newest products hit the shelves feeling like old standbys we just want to keep around.
Or maybe we’re just overthinking things as usual and should shut up.
Either way, the latest partnership to catch our attention is the recently released Topo Designs x National Parks partnership through REI. Celebrating five iconic parks—Rocky Mountain National Park, Mt. Rainier National Park, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and Shenandoah National Park—with custom patches sewn onto limited-edition duffels and dopp kits, the collection is both super simple, and easy to love.
The classic duffel($129) is a sizable, unstructured 42L, making it ideal of weekends away or hauling gear from your rig to the campsite. The more accessible dopp kit($29) is designed to be used for toiletries, but we prefer it as a general organizer for hauling charging cables, headlamps, and other essentials of the sort. It’s also great for organizing sporks and other camping kitchen supplies. All are made in the USA as per usual.
And best of all, for each product sold, 5% of the wholesale cost will be donated to the National Parks Foundation, the official charitable partner of the NPS. Can’t beat that.
