The landscape of running apparel has only grown more exciting in recent years with boundary pushing brands experimenting with sleek silhouettes and bold graphics for people who actually care about their style when they run. Nike Gyakusou, Salomon S/LAB, District Vision, and Satisfy are just a sampling of brands that come to mind that execute a high-tech running look that’s a la mode. Popular as this style is (and love it as much as we do) it’s hard not to believe that there’s still room for more variety.

The latest from adventure lifestyle brand Roark brings a bit more edge to the scene with a new adventure-running capsule dubbed Run Amok.

Roark is not a dedicated running brand, in fact, this collection marks the brand’s first foray into technical running gear. Though the brand's history of adventure-ready apparel has us convinced. Tees, shorts, and outerwear touting four-way stretch, reflective hits, and DriRelease technology are designed around trail running out in the great wide open—but would be equally at home at the gym, too, once those are chill again.

Roark cites Moroccan hieroglyphics as the inspiration for many of the graphics that help set these pieces apart from offerings that we’re using to seeing from bigger brands. (A sharp eye may also wonder if Roark didn't cherrypick design motifs from fellow outdoor adjacent brands like Brain Dead when desiging the colleciton, too.)

Many of the pieces also borrow a bit of style from the skate and surf world that Roark similarly dabbles in. The Running On Empty Tee could easily mix in with the rest of the brand’s everyday offerings. With a solid first offering, we're pleased to see diverse styles entering the run category, and hope to see more down the line.
