Ah, the hammock-there may be no better way to enjoy nature than being suspended roughly 12 inches above it, swinging lightly, with excellent back support. These portable lounges have been beloved by outdoor enthusiasts and compulsive nappers for nearly 1,000 years. And with the advent of the lightweight, packable camping hammock, by brands like Austin-based Kammok, the age-old tool of relaxation has become a must-have "adventure accessory" for van lifers, backpackers, and general park lovers. Plus, with the new Roo Double Hammock, re-released with recycled material, there's even more to love.
Much tested and much approved, the original Roo Double Hammock has recently been re-introduced in 100% recycled Bluesign approved fabric. Made of Kammok's own GravitasX textile, the product's production process makes use of unused, pre-consumer nylon that would otherwise go to a landfill. The nylon is ground into chips, melted, respun, and then dyed to create-ta da-fabric for the Roo Double.
The Roo Double Recycled is available in Marine and Seaglass colorways and packs down easily into its recycled nylon carrying sack, weighing just 17oz in total. Comfortable enough for two people, the hammock spreads 10 ft long and is capable of holding up to an industry-leading 500 lbs.
A part of Kammok's ongoing sustainability initiative, the Roo Double is the first of their hammocks to undergo the green transformation. But it won't be the last—the Roo Single and Roo Double XL will be available in GravitasX™ by Spring 2022, so stay tuned.
Set your mind and body at ease with the newly sustainable Roo Double Recycled and take a nap, 'cause Lord knows we all need one.
