Today, 26 February 2019, marks 100 years of Grand Canyon as a National Park. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the stunning landmark encompasses 1,904 sq. miles with over 277 river miles and an average depth of a mile. As such a size, and with such acclaim, it’s a natural wonder no one can ignore—and one worth celebrating every day, regardless of anniversary or not.
To celebrate the centennial, a number of brands have released special edition products—you can even enter to win a free trip to the park, complete with heli tour and clamping set up—but few have done so as tastefully as Teva, the river sandal brand born in the canyon itself back in 1984.
The GC100 Collection includes five distinct sandal styles for both men, women, and even kids, each donning a unique strap pattern inspired by the Grand Canyons’ layered red rocks, meandering rivers, and renowned sunsets. We had the chance to check out the collection in person last fall, and are psyched to see the set now available (the minimalist Original Urban Sandal and chunky Hurricane XLT2 get our vote for MVPs, with honorable mention for the wild knit Hurrican Sock).
In addition to the product, Teva is giving $100k to the Grand Canyon Conservancy to help restore trails and fund environmental education programs for undeserved youth. Pretty rad.
