And just like that, it's that time of year when we feel winter's doldrums so acutely that we look to a weather-predicting rodent to provide us with hope that it won't drag on forever. But it's also at this time of year that many brands from the outdoor industry share a sneak peek of what they have in the works for next winter.

In the past, hundreds of brands and industry professionals have gathered to do this at Outdoor Retailer, the largest industry trade show in North America. The pandemic has put a soggy damper on that party, but your favorite brands are sticking to the schedule and providing a glimpse of the gear to come.

The follow six standout items offer a glimpse at what's to come, from cabin-ready appreal to backcountry-specific gear, releasing in Fall 2022 (or sooner).

Poler x Burton Camp Pancho

Remember Poler Stuff? The collab capsule collection will carry a variety of gear, such as this Camp Poncho, and feature graphic artwork from Kelly’s first Burton Air snowboard from 1990.

BCA Float E2

BCA Float E2 Avalanche Airbag

BCA's Float E2 offers top-of-the-line safety for backcountry skiers and snowboarders through a new innovative design. The pack is waterproof and durable, featuring a supercapacitor airbag system that uses a fan instead of a canister, allowing for multiple deployments (practice makes perfect), better cold-weather performance, and is TSA-friendly. Hopefully you'll never have to use that feature, but you'll get plenty of action from this pack's innovative side and rear stash pockets. Choose between two sizes: 35 or 25 liters.

Atomic-Bent-Collection-Skis-Product-Shot

Atomic Bent Collection

Atomic Bent Collection

Atomic is revamping skier Chris Benchetler's popular pro model freeride skis by expanding it into a full-blown collection that includes five widths—120, 110, 100, 90, and 85 millimeters—for all types of terrain. The new Bent 110 offers a smoother profile for those non-blower powder days, while the 90 and 85 add a more purpose-built freestyle ski. Each model features Atomic's Horizon Tech, a three-dimensional beveled tip and tail shape design that improves float (except for the Bent 85).

We got an early test pair and can confirm the ski's versatile playfulness, but, frankly, the topsheet art, painted by Benchetler himself, was enough to convince us these skis are worth looking forward to.
