Eldorado is an outdoor experience publication experiment from Folk Studio, a Barcelona-based design shop best known for publishing design and homeware magazine Apartemtno and the artful adult book Odiseo. We're big fans, plain and simple. Though the writers and designers behind Eldorado focus primarily on adventure and outdoor experiences, they recently took some time indoors to design their first collaboration product: The Traveler, made by fellow countryman and sunglass maker Alfred Kerbs.
The Traveler features clay colored acetate and a single flat blue-grey gradient lens that covers the entire front of the frame, bringing the rounded, otherwise retro, design up to date. Each is handmade in Italy in an edition of just 50, with Mazzuchelli acetate (very good) and lenses from Divel (also very good) with UV/UB protection (great).
