In December of 2015, co-founders Tom Daly and Max Vallot launched District Vision. What started as an experiment to test new sports eyewear among a group of downtown runners in New York City has since evolved into a full-fledged brand that has steadily grown its products and community alike, expanding beyond eyewear for runners and into other avenues, including apparel.
As such, the new Andy Packable Poncho is another integration of the brand's holistic philosophy of athleticism into a piece of otherwise unassuming gear.
Designed with a minimalist aesthetic and utilitarian functionality, this lightweight poncho was constructed from a water-resistant 160 gram, single-layer Italian-milled shell fabric. Like traditional outdoor ponchos (and the cheap plastic ones you might buy in a pinch), it's made without sleeves and packs into its own central kangaroo pouch. In this instance, once packed, the poncho can be worn as a waist bag when not in use—perfect for carrying when weather is unpredictable (read: every day in this time of climate crisis).
Whether you're running, hiking, biking, or simply taking a stroll to the grocery store on a stormy day in the city, the District Vision Andy Packable Poncho is a well-weathered sidekick. And as fall is coming into full swing and weather reports less reliable, it's the perfect piece of gear to keep on-hand, just in case.
