As you (hopefully) know by now, the US National Parks Service is celebrating 100 years of stewardship this year. And lots of folks are celebrating—rightly so—with legendary Seattle-based outfitter REI at the forefront. The latest nod to catch our eye is this colorful collection of limited edition trail runners from Brooks.
The Brooks National Parks Trails Collection Cascadia introduces five colorways of their long loved Cascadia 12 trail-running shoe, for both men and women. Each style is directly inspired by a different, yet equally iconic, national park—from the Great Smokey Mountains and Mt. Rainier to Yellowstone, Yosemite, and well, the NPS in general. Though each edition has its own merits, for our money, the Yellowstone colorway is the highlight of the lot.
The REI Co-op exclusive sneakers not only celebrate a few of America’s most treasured lands, they give back to the parks service as a whole. For every pair sold, Brooks will donate 5% of the wholesale cost to the National Park Foundation, a charitable partner of the NPS.
As fall approaches (gasp) the best time of year to trail run will be upon us, so get out there, enjoy our public lands, and look dang good doing it too.
