At long last it’s finally camping season. And what’s the best part of camping season? Aside from sleeping outside, campfires, and s’mores, it’s lusting over new gear of course. To help satiate your hunger for the latest and greatest, we culled the digital aisles over at Huckberry and updated our curated shop with over a dozen new items to ensure your spring and summer are well spent outside. Below are a few highlights. See the rest here.
Hardcore Hammers Survivalist Hatchet
At just under 18” in length this American-made tool packs the heft and power of a full on felling axe into an easy-to-use hatchet size. The Survivalist Hatchet ($115) features a head forged of hardened-steel with a blunt hammer end opposing the splitting edge, along with a leather sheath for save portage. The handle is carved from hard American hickory, making for a dependable tool that’ll last a lifetime, whether used around the campsite at home.
Wolf & Grizzly M1 Portable Grill
Originally launched on Kickstarted to extreme fanfare, the M1 Portable Grill ($99) is an ingenious design combining a rollable wire-based grill with a folding, scissor-like base. Together the two pack down to just over 12” long by 1.5” wide, and weigh just 2.2 pounds. We’re not often impressed by “innovative” crowd-funded gadgets, but this one is high atop our spring wish-list.
Goal Zero Solar Crush Light
The latest design from the industry’s leading source of adventure-ready lighting options, the Crush Light ($20) is a hyper-packable, solar-powered lantern capable of lasting 35 hours on a single charge.
Nemo Equipment Losi LS 3P Tent
An award-winning design capable of actually fitting three people plus gear (!), the Losi LS 3P Tent ($490) is about as badass as it gets when it comes to backpacking tents. At just 5lbs all told, the over-engineered tent is sturdy, weatherproof, and durable—by all accounts well worth the price tag.
Mystery Ranch In & Out Packable19L Backpack
The Bozeman, Montana-based outfitter is best known for it’s overbuilt backpacking packs capable of quite literally lasting a lifetime. With the In & Out Packable Backpack ($79), we see something entirely different—a fully capable lightweight (we’re talking 1 stinking pound!) backpack that packs down into a pocket for easy carry when not in use. Pack it in your rucksack for day hikes once you’ve establish camp, or toss in your luggage when traveling as extra carrying space if you buy a few too many souvenirs. Either way, it’s pretty dang cool.
Teva Terra Float 2 Knit
The biggest complaint when it comes to adventure sandals is uncomfortable woven straps. The innovative Terra Float 2 Knit ($90), aims to eliminate such issues with a wraparound knit upper thats quick-drying and comfortable 24/7. Like Flyknits, but in sandal form. An idea so crazy it might just work.
