Inspired by astronauts returning to the moon for the first time since 1972, Rumpl has partnered with NASA to create a collection celebrating the upcoming Artemis missions. With two new space-themed blankets and a puffy poncho, the Rumpl x NASA Artemis collection celebrates not only the technological feat of sending humans to the moon once again, but also that the Artemis missions will make history by landing the first woman and the first person of color on its surface.
Within the line, Rumpl's packable and portable Original Puffy Artemis Horizon Blanket ($129) and matching Original Puffy Poncho ($199) feature a rich purple-to-gold gradient inspired by the Artemis program and include the Artemis logo too. The third piece is a Nasa Original Puffy Blanket ($129) that pays homage to the American space organization and calls to mind space suits with classic NASA red and the famous worm logo. All three items are made with ripstop nylon shells and contain synthetic insulation made from 100% recycled materials, which just so happen to be the perfect features for outdoor stargazing.
While the blankets are here now, the moon mission won't be for some years yet (2025 at the earliest). But rockets will blast off sooner than that—after several failed attempts due to faulty sensors, leaks, and weather, the first unmanned Artemis rocket launch is set to launch Wednesday 11/16 at 1:04 am EST. The purpose of this first launch is to test the rocket as well as the Orion crew capsule, but NASA's ultimate goal is to further scientific research and exploration on both the moon and in space.
Part of that plan also includes an Artemis Base Camp on the moon. It's hard not to get excited about the sounds of that, and while we highly doubt the astronauts will be cozying up in puffy blankets up there once it's built, it still makes us psyched to bring Rumpl's new pieces on our own future Earth-bound expeditions.
