Our favorite piece of camp furniture, without a doubt, is a well-designed and compact camp chair. But even the best camp chairs have their limitations; sinking into soft soil, wobbling on uneven planes, and sometimes even blowing into the campfire when unattended (ask us how we know).
The husband-and-wife duo behind Pennsylvania-based home goods brand Peace Cabin value their outdoor time. It was only a matter of time before they created the Wanderer seat pad ($135), a camp and park-ready 1000D Cordura nylon-clad version of their 15-inch square Froebel sitting pad ready to transform any surface into a comfy seat.
The 1000-denier Cordura nylon found on the Wanderer camping seat pad’s top and bottom means it's ready to be dragged across rocks, tossed in the dirt, and hosed off for its next outing. The Cordura provides a considerable durability upgrade from the assortment of cotton twill, denim, and wool seen on the brand’s Ennis and Wingspread pads. Inside, the pad uses a mix of organic latex foam and kapok fibers to provide a four-inch thick pad of sustainable comfort.
The Wanderer comes in three colorways; muted Sandstone and Onyx solids and the multicolor Rosella, whose cheetah print webbing handle provides equal parts utility and flair. And since Peace Cabin makes the pads one at a time, we’re sure some other color options will pop up later on.
