From the colorful Synchilla Fleece to the Nano Puff, no matter how many SKUs Patagonia introduces a few key pieces will always stand out as mainstays. Often sat side by side with the two aforementioned pieces is the Black Hole Duffel. The massive bag is legendary. But we’re probably not alone in wishing, from time to time, that it was maybe just a bit smaller? Well, Patagonia has heard our cries, and delivered, with five new iterations of the iconic bag—including two new duffels, two packs, and a tote bag.
Since everyone can imagine the usual Black Hole Duffel, but smaller, we’ll focus on the other three, and only briefly at that. The Cinch Pack ($79) is the most interesting to us, as it’s urban and trail applications are obvious. At 20L and weighing just 1.9 lbs it stands as a solid running-to-the-gym pack, as well as a day hiking carryall. Same goes for the 26L Pack ($99), which swaps the drawstring closure of the Cinch for a water-resistant zipper.
The Gear Tote ($49) is worth a look too. Sure, it’s just a big tote bag made of DWR-coated ripstop nylon (in fact, the whole line is). But it weights just 9.3 oz and can haul about as much weight as you can carry.
And yes, each piece is avaialble in a whole range of colors :\
