Established in February 1919 by President Woodrow Wilson, Grand Canyon National Park is an icon of the natural world, drawing some six million year visitors. And this year, as you have likely already heard, marks the 100th anniversary of its designation. We’ve seen no shortage of product collections and collaborations to note the occasion—the Teva release being a favorite to date—each giving back in its own way. The latest to catch our eye is the Parks Project Grand Canyon Polaroid.
Each of the limited edition Polaroid 600 cameras has been painstakingly refurbished by the instant film camera wizards at Retrospekt, with updated body graphics and colors directly referencing the national park’s most recognizable geological features, as well as the centennial dates, making the camera both a fully functional instant camera and a cool collectors item.
And best of all, 5% of sales benefiting the Grand Canyon Conservancy, the official nonprofit partner of the Grand Canyon National Park. As film photographer nerds and avid enthusiasts of our national parks, it doesn’t get much better than this unique release.
In addition, Parks Project has released a retro ringer tee to further salute the Grand Canyon, with all the positive nostalgia one could ever want from a national park souvenir.
Remember y’all, take only photographs, leave only footprints.
