Named for the Himalayan mountain of Nanga Parbat, Japanese insulation specialist Nanga has been putting out high quality sleeping bags and apparel since 1947. More recently, we’ve seen Nanga come stateside for collaborations with domestic brands we already know and love—take the backpack and down t-shirt it made with Topo Designs and Natal Design as a prime example.

The latest to get down with Nanga is Brooklyn’s own Adsum, a streetwear brand that's been putting out collections of understated sportswear-inspired pieces since 2015. The recently revealed Nanga x Adsum collection sees four pieces of co-branded casual and expedition-worthy goods, including a lofty down sleeping bag and insulated booties—both made in Japan—and a casual cotton t-shirt and cap.

To add a little New York cachet to the drop, Adsum chose the walk-in freezer of Lower East Side eatery Dimes—aka "Chinatown's coolest restaurant" according to Vogue—as the shoot location for the lookbook.

At the core of the release is the Japanese-made 180 UDD DX Sleeping Bag, a summer-weight bag filled with 770-fill down that’s been treated for high levels of water repellency. The bright bag packs down impossibly small into its equally bright stuff sack, making it a perfect choice for ultralight hiking in warmer months.

There's also a special glow-in-the-dark YKK zipper that's handy when headlamps are out of reach. A built-in guard prevents zip snags on the lightweight ripstop fabric, too.

Joining the sleeping bag are the Tent Shoes, whose 650-fill insulation will warm any camper’s feet on the chilliest nights around camp (or simply at home). The tough abrasion-resistant nylon shell is treated for water repellency just like its sleeping bag counterpart, so there's no need to worry about a little morning dew. Packed down into an included stuff sack, these camp booties are ready for any trip where warm cozy footwear is welcome.

On the more casual front, a simple t-shirt and dad hat are co-branded with logos from both brands. Neither company is known to be heavy on graphic-wear, so the minimal treatment on these pieces feels perfectly in keeping with a collaboration. You gotta love when a collab is more than just a "look at me!" logo swap.

The collection will be available tomorrow, 12 August, at 11 AM ET, exclusively via Adsum online in what’ll likely be a limited and fast-moving quantity.
