Named for the Himalayan mountain of Nanga Parbat, Japanese insulation specialist Nanga has been putting out high quality sleeping bags and apparel since 1947. More recently, we’ve seen Nanga come stateside for collaborations with domestic brands we already know and love—take the backpack and down t-shirt it made with Topo Designs and Natal Design as a prime example.
The latest to get down with Nanga is Brooklyn’s own Adsum, a streetwear brand that's been putting out collections of understated sportswear-inspired pieces since 2015. The recently revealed Nanga x Adsum collection sees four pieces of co-branded casual and expedition-worthy goods, including a lofty down sleeping bag and insulated booties—both made in Japan—and a casual cotton t-shirt and cap.
To add a little New York cachet to the drop, Adsum chose the walk-in freezer of Lower East Side eatery Dimes—aka "Chinatown's coolest restaurant" according to Vogue—as the shoot location for the lookbook.
