Simple math proves there's likely more hikers, campers, bicyclists, backpackers, and general outdoor enthusiasts in New York City alone than all of Wyoming or Montana. This is a hill I'll die on. That you don't have to bag peaks daily and live in an over-priced mountain town to be a card carrying outdoorist (an over-priced city will do just fine).
This intersection of urban living <> outdoors loving is where Field Mag exists. It's also (at least in part) the target market for fellow NYC-based brands Hikerkind and Allmansright—the former makes fashionable outdoors apparel for women and the latter, ultralight hiking gear for all. Now, the two have released their first collaboration product for day hiking, Bottle Bag 01.
Available direct from Hikerkind online and via the brand's Brooklyn showroom (by appointment only) until they sell out, the limited-edition bottle bag is an attractive, functional piece of kit useful in the city and on the trail, natch.
