You should know Goldwin by now. The Japanese maker of hyper technical ski and lifestyle apparel is one of the best brands out, perfectly balancing a focus on supremely clean and refined design with industry leading technical fabrics and functionality. You should also know Geoff McFetridge, the Canadian born, Califonria-based artist and designer that draws cool little characters, logos, and artworks you maybe don’t know but will definitly love. The two have come together to make a modest collection of softgoods. And it’s pretty great.
Out today, both in Japan at Goldwin's new retail shop and online (luck you, USA), the Goldwin x Geoff McFetridge collaboration collection includes a series of t-shirts, sweaters, beanies, and blankets embroidered with clever new Goldwin logos and printed with equally fun fox illustrations. The fox thread runs throughout, acting as the pillar by which each piece is built upon.
Why the fox? While skiing in Japan some years ago McFetridge encountered a Hokkaido fox, and the playful little thing flowed through the forest with him for a few powder turns. Needless to say, the experience was impactful (check out this video for the full fox story), and given Goldwin’s heritage in producing ski apparel, the fox seemed a perfect fit for collection mascot.
We’ll take two of each, please.
