As bikepacking becomes increasingly popular, certain brands are to thank. Seattle’s Swift Industries is one. The design-minded brand makes especially rad—and extremely functional—products for bikepackers, tourers and bike commuters. And at some recent point, decided to start promoting the idea of a Solstice Campout as a way to encourage folks to give camping by bike a try.
The above video by fellow Seattleites Coal follows one such trip, in rugged Central Idaho, featuring a handful of friends new and old from Seattle, Portland, LA, Salt Lake, Denver, Boise, and Bozeman. As you can see, bikepacking isn't for the faint of heart, the quick-to-give-up-ers, or the adventure adverse. But then again, I you fell into those categories, you wouldn't likely be reading this right now...
Give it a watch. Then start planning a (maybe less gnarly?) trip of your own.
XOXO
