Like clockwork, each season Carhartt WIP delivers more modern iterations on classic silhouettes. Who knew you could make canvas overalls and denim jackets work in so many ways? Yet we believe it, because after all, when you give the archives of America’s greatest workwear manufacturer to a group of design-minded Scandinavians, the results will surely be memorable. This season WIP’s women’s line really caught our eye, with standouts taking the shape of fishtail parkas, sturdy union suits, and of course, this classic fleece mid layer.

The W’ Janet Liner, available in both white and black, is immediately recognizable (The North Face circa 2005 anyone?) and yet still fresh. The 8.1 ounce poly fleece is simple by design, and better for it, with the only notable details coming in the form of a single nylon chest pocket and a rib-knit collar.

Wear it under a ski jacket or around town atop a hoodie. Either way, the adaptable layering piece is sure to become a fav when winter rolls around.
