Not all custom jobs come via vintage donor bike. Sometimes even the shiny new machines need an upgrade too. Take the 2012 Triumph Scrambler of LA-based director and all around outdoors badboy Sinuhe Xavier. This handsome bike was pretty well to do on it's own, but after a modest overhaul by British Customs, it's become a real go-anywhere type of bike.
While the Scrambler model is a versatile bike by design, this iteration was directly inspired by the American desert sled concept of the mid 1900s. The desert sled an iconic, off-road beast intended to be low maintenance and capable of handling varied terrain without thinking twice. As the list of updates is longer than your attention span we’ll stick to the most overtly noticeable updates—British Customs swapped out the seat for a custom job, added padded motocross bars, a high fender and dropped a significant amount of weight.
The result is an ultra clean, quick handling, modern take on the mid-century desert sleds designed to go where you want over the weekend and still be capable (and comfortable) racking up pavement miles on the way home.
