California-based glamping-adjacent hospitality company AutoCamp is taking creative outdoor accommodations one step further with its newest venture, Field Station, a sister brand focused on providing iacessibly-priced, adventure-focused accommodations. Set to open its first site in early 2023 in Moab, Utah—with Joshua Tree and Lake Tahoe to follow—the fledging company renovates existing lodging and motels in popular outdoor destinations, turning them into sustainable basecamps designed to create the perfect place to rest and recharge after a day of exploration.
Besides the outdoor-inspired photography and art on the walls, each Field Station room features storage for gear and supplies via coolers, benches, and bike racks. Communal spaces include a cafe with eat-in and to-go options, a beer garden, pool, and a stylish lobby that are all open to guests as well as the public. Hotel employees will be on-hand to help to curate personalized outdoor experiences, and turn-key gear rental is available on site.
