It’s no secret we’re suckers for Japanese design. While such predilections often lead us to Snow Peak, and wander is another brand we can’t seem to get enough of. Since 2011 the Tokyo-based brand—founded by two designers formerly of Issey Miyake—has consistently delivered nature-inspired apparel for both boys and girls that seamlessly blends technical materials and functionality with a highly refined aesthetic. Case in point: The Typewriter Shirt Jacket.
Constructed in Japan of a cotton and polyester blend engineered to be quick drying, highly breathable, and moisture wicking, the lightweight piece makes a solid case for owning a jacket specifically for the warmer months. As with any and wander garment, the Typewriter features a handful of considered details worth fawning over—from heavy duty contrast stitching and underarm ventilation holes to a subtle shawl collar.
The six-pocket design is what makes the shirt jacket a real standout though. With four chest pockets and two hand warmer pockets placed along the side seam there’s room for all you may need to lug around town and the campsite.
