Recently, Canadian pro skier Rob Huele spent some time touring Japan’s main island, skiing, surfing, and shooting analog photographs, making audio recordings, and mental notes of the reliably unique experiences that only a place like Japan can deliver. In the end, he compiled it all into a four minute stop motion film called Jimoto Inu. And it's well worth four minutes of your time.
Rob’s words on the project are below, along with a selection of our favorite stills featured the film. You don’t even need to surf or ski to enjoy this one—a healthy interest in exploration and appreciation of creativity will do.
“Take a journey through the sights, sounds and, sensations of Japan. Overstimulate your senses in the perpetual hustle of Tokyo. Feel the slightest resistance as the powder eases your decent through Nagano's deciduous forests. Feel the salty spray and push of the ocean's energy while gliding along a glassy aquamarine Miyazaki peeler. Jimoto Inu shares the search for the thrill of gliding all over Japan.”
