I consider the San Juan Mountains home. The rugged terrain makes up some of the most difficult and dangerous mountains in Colorado. They are lightly traveled, remote, and technical, making for a real experience each time you step foot in them.
A typical day in the San Juans includes a drive up one of the many old mining roads, getting out, and walking. Sometimes there is an objective, but most times the aim is simply to see what there is to see.
The Teton Range is equally iconic, with peaks shooting up from grasslands below and The Grand Teton in the middle of the range towering above everything in sight. It’s simply like nothing I had seen before. And even after visiting many times, there is still much more I need to see.
As summer approaches it’s that time of year when snow melts and plans start to take shape. Where and what next?
