Sweden’s Klättermusen has quickly become a favorite at FM HQ. Though founded in 1984 the brand’s aesthetic is purely modern, offering contemporary updates on traditional outdoor designs, mostly Scandinavian in nature. The recently released Spring 2016 line is full of gems, including this slick unisex anorak. The 20k waterproof Fjorgyn Anorak—named for the mother of Thor in Norse mythology, which loosely translates to earth—is hyper lightweight, semi-transparent and sized to fit both men and women.
The 2.5 layer shell is PTFE-free—making it kinda sorta eco-friendly—and is constructed with fully taped seams with adjustable elasticized cuffs and hem. The popover design is hyper minimal. It may be a bit of a bitch to pull on/off but it essentially renders you impervious to the elements. An adjustable hood with partial bill helps too. A large front zip pocket offers ample storage space and doubles as a stuff sack (handy as a pillow too).
In short, the technical, weatherproof anorak is a solid bet for backpacking or simply tossing in a tote for protection against sudden spring and summer showers.
