We’ve long been an admirer of the brand’s modern aesthetic made with trusted materials and vintage machinery. And since we like to think of anything taking place in the open air as outdoorsy, the new RainLite collection is the perfect reason to introduce you all, even if it does skew more urban minded.
Named for the lightweight, waterproof coated cotton fabric d’emploi has recently begun working with as an alternative to waxed cotton—a move that significantly reduces weight and cost—the RainLite collection features a range of products including a couple sturdy carrying options, rain coat, two rain hats, and an umbrella. That’s right, an umbrella—because sometimes your parka doesn’t have a hood.
For us, the rucksack, film pouch, and the two serious highlights for us (shout out the umbrella and bucket hats too). Constructed with sturdy brass hardware and hardwearing 9oz bridle leather straps with an interior laptop sleeve and single exterior pocket, the RainLite Rucksack is a medium-sized solution for everyday carry.
Likewise, the Film Pouch is the perfect accessory pouch, whether used for carrying a camera and spare film, chargers and cables for traveling, or simply toiletries. Plus the orange coloring makes it easy to spot when otherwise lost a larger bag.
