Most custom motorcycles have a buyer long before a single wrench if even turned. Not this R nine T/6. For this rare custom build, Analog Motorcycles Founder Tony Prust had an idea and let nothing get in the way of executing it. Using an iconic 1976 BMW R90/6 as the base, Tony took the opportunity to go all out, redesigning the bike from the base up. The end result is a stunning, color coordinated build designed and engineered for performance and functionality. And best of all, she can wheelie.
To anyone familiar with Beemers of this vintage, the rear subframe and engine will stand out as particularly unique. This is because the rear frame loop has been custom fabricated and designed to integrate race tuned suspension to give the bike a more aggressive stance. And the BMW boxer motor has been striped, cleaned and rebuilt in entirety, with the end result favoring individual pod filters in the place of the traditional—and bulky—airbox. The newly open area behind the engine makes for a supremely clean look, and frees up room for a custom electronics box which fits snuggly up underneath the seat.
If mechanics isn't your thing, there's still plenty to drool over. Take for example, the hand-painted two-tone fuel tank with custom-machined BMW logo, or perhaps the black rims laced to bespoke blue spokes. The hand-stitched seat is a head turner too. Drawing on the all too popular café racer style, this nine T/6 opts for a seat that resembles the single seat style with a leather passenger seat in the place of a fiberglass rear hump, giving the bike the same minimal look as a classic café but with the functionality to ride two-up.
Now that the build is complete, the Analog Motorcycles gang must let it go. Meaning, it's for sale. Though no price has been posted, we're sure the number will be as noteworthy as the build itself.
